Leaps & Bounds (view trailer) (2012) produced by The Affording Hope Project and conceived by Tevyn East - is a new feature-length dance film and one-woman show about hope, ecology & the global economy. Using a number of creative tools including storytelling, movement, music, poetry and song, this work of performance-art weaves together a powerful portrayal of our deepening ecological and economic crisis, while awakening our imagination to a new way of living with and relat ing to Mother Earth. "Leaps & Bounds," embodies a reclaiming of the values that promote human well-being and ecological health and inspires us to imagine and initiate a more intentional relationship with the earth. Film will be followed by audience discussion of the film and the issues raised by the film.

The semi-finalists from The Beltway Poetry Slam on August 28th (Pages Matam, G. Yamazawa, Natalie E. Illum, & Clint Smith) will be competing for a spot to represent DC at the 2012 Individual World Poetry Slam in Fayetville, AR! Don't miss their amazing performances in this four round slam.The feature will be the current Individual World Poetry Slam Champ and past Beltway Slam Team member, Chris August! This should be a really awesome night! I have seen all of these poets perform and definitely recommend checking them out. You won't be disappointed.
