PAST: Highlights Post! Here's a list of more Free and low-cost events and Things to do in DC this Labor Day Weekend! SAT, Sept 1st, SUN, Sept 2nd & MON, Sept 3rd!

I'm heading out of town this weekend to the mountains and won't have access to the internet, just wanted to jot down some more things for you all to choose from this Labor Day Weekend in a highlights post.

Below you'll find a list of additional free and low-cost events in DC, organized by date and time. After that list, you'll also find a list of film screenings at the National Gallery of Art, and there is also a guided meditation class being offered daily in Dupont that you can read more about at the bottom of this post.

"Join author Nicholas Kristof as he travels to Asia and Africa to meet face-to-face with the women and girls who confront extreme gender inequality in their daily lives. In the first of three episodes, Kristof highlights education in his visit to Vietnam. Accompanying him is actress Gabrielle Union as well as former Microsoft marketing executive John Wood, who started Room to Read, an organization working to promote literacy and equal education for girls across the developing world.  With special guest speaker Sally Schwartz, Founder and Executive Director, DC Center for Global Education and Leadership. Registered educators will receive a gift bag with ITVS Classroom resources. Attendees will be given an introduction to ITVS resources designed to enhance the classroom or after school experience."
