East Meets West Yoga Center support the Off the Mat Global Seva Challenge - helping rescue and empower victims of sex trafficking - FRI, July 6th 7:00pm - 9:30pm, by donation

Anniversary Celebration for East Meets West Yoga Center
Friday, July 6th
7:00pm - 9:30pm
by donation
To benefit Off the Mat Global Seva Challenge, which is focused this year on rescuing and empowering victims of sex trafficking in India.

Join the folks at East Meets West Yoga Center in Vienna, VA tis Friday night for a celebration of one year in their new and improved studio! From 7:00pm - 9:30 pm, the teachers from the center will lead a sacred mala practice including a grounding sequence, 108 sun salutations and a relaxing savasana. 108 is a significant number in many traditions and in nature, and is the number of beads in a mala (string of beads) used for japa (repetition of a mantra). The practice of 108 sun salutations, in addition to heating the body, is also an opportunity to connect with a spiritual aspect of the practice of yoga.

Never done 108 before? Don’t worry! They plan to make it fun and easy with 6 amazing teachers, live music, yummy refreshments and more. Taking a break and practicing at your own pace are encouraged. The event will be donation-based. All contributions will support the Off the Mat Global Seva Challenge, which is focused this year on rescuing and empowering victims of sex trafficking in India. Make your practice count, and join us for this evening of celebration!

Metro: Looks like the nearest metro is Vienna, and about a ten minute drive or taxi (see map), or perhaps there is a bus that can get you closer. Normally I don't post events this far out but I love that this is a celebration of yoga and a benefit to help empower and rescue victims of sex trafficking in India, so for stuff like this, I sometimes make exceptions.
