African-American authors have joined forces with the historic Shiloh Baptist Church in Washington, DC to plan the Shine On Summer Reading Book Fair to highlight the importance of summer reading for area children and families. Organizing authors include Ralph Burgess, author of the Cool Calvin book series; Charisse Carney-Nunes, author of Nappy; and David Miller, author of Khalil's Way. Come out to see NAACP nominee Kwame Alexander, Griot/Master Storyteller Baba C, Yaba Baker, Lori Nelson and more. Readings, prizes, giveaways and an opportunity to sign up for the DC Public Library's Summer Reading Program!
