"Celebrating its 25th anniversary, the National Museum of Women in the Arts (NMWA) hosts its Global Marketplace in the museum’s Great Hall and Mezzanine, featuring jewelry, crafts, and other home goods made by women of the developing world. Exhibitors representing the craftswomen will also discuss the arts as a powerful vehicle of economic development. The Global Marketplace is part of NMWA’s Empowering Women through Art initiative, and proceeds from the two-day event go directly to the women artisans."

Note: If you want to check out the museum while there admission is:  $10, $8 for students and those 65+, 18 and under free.

On view now at NMWA's Library and Research Center is also a special exhibit "Mamacita Linda: Letters Between Frida Kahlo and her Mother" featuring unpublished letters between Frida Kahlo and her mother. Included in admission to museum. This exhibit is open Monday - Friday only.
