Wednesday, April 11th
7:00pm - 9:00pm

Ethnomusiolcogist and GWU faculty member Kip Lornell is working on a book, Capital Bluegrass, for Oxford University Press. Come out to this edition of the DC Music Salon to talk to him and several local bluegrass musicians and learn more about the history of the local bluegrass scene. Enjoy some tunes and footage of local bands.

DC Music Salon is a free film & book series about music, featuring discussions with expert guests. At the salons you'll have a chance to see films and speak with musicians, filmmakers, authors and other fellow music lovers. These aren’t lectures, and all are welcome to attend and join in the conversation.

Side Note: If you're a fan of Bluegrass you may be interested in checking out the Sligo Creek Stompers free show at Acre 121 in Columbia Heights on Thursday, April 12th. "Blending Appalachian bluegrass, New Orleans ragtime, Texas swing and more, the Sligo Creek Stompers are keeping traditional roots music alive in the metro region."
