Arrabalera with Tita Merello is an Argentine musical drama film directed and written by Tulio Demicheli on his debut and starring Tita Merello. It is based on the story by Samuel Eichelbaum. The film premiered in 25 April 1950 in Buenos Aires. A young working woman flees from her alcoholic partner as she is terrified by his abusive and bad tempered character that not even the birth of his son manages to placate. A cart driver from the Boca area takes her to his home. After a time, they get married and the cart driver recognizes the son as his own. Twenty years later, this young man will be the one to resolve the conflict between his adopted and biological father
