Happy Women's History Month! For the mothertongue show of this month, they are celebrating the voices of all women. Don't have your own stuff to read? Feel free to read work by a woman who inspires you! As always, woman-identified poets can read whatever they please: A poem, a work of prose, a rant (and, might we suggest, that this is a very good time for a rant. 5 minutes or less, please).

Gowri K., pictured, co-hosts "The Garden"poetry open mic every Monday at BloomBars and a monthly open mic at Busboys and Poets 14th & V St, NW. She is a poet, singer and lawyer whose parents immigrated to the U.S. from Sri Lanka. She was a Lannan Fellow of the Folger Shakespeare Library and a member of the 2010 DC Southern Fried Slam team, and has performed at Lincoln Center Out of Doors (NYC), the Kennedy Center’s Millennium Stage and the Smithsonian Folklife Festival. Her poetry has appeared in Beltway Poetry Quarterly, Bourgeon and Lantern Review.
