"In an era of dramatic and rapidly accelerating change, where everything from the way tickets are sold to the definition of “art” is under reconsideration and transformation, it’s time for a public discussion of the Future of the Arts."

"Join National Endowment for the Arts chief of staff Jamie Bennett and a panel of experts including Anna Soellner, vice president of the Motion Picture Association of America, and Vijay Mathew, director of the New American Play Institute at Arena Stage. The panel will be moderated by Michael Wilkerson, assistant professor of arts management at American University, who has presented and written on the topic. The colloquium will begin at 4 p.m., with a reception to follow. The Public is welcome to attend."

  1. This was a most excellent event. Tremendous insight and thoughts from professionals on the "front line", so to speak, in terms of how we as Americans experience and consume art and entertainment.

    And it was an especially engaging dialogue with regard to the changes from the past, the challenges of the present, and the chances for the future.
