Archives staff teach “beyond the basics” archival research skills on the third Wednesday of the month. Archivist Constance Potter and archives technicianDiane Petro focus on the 1940 census, which will be released on April 2, 2012.

Adam Goodheart presents a gripping account of how the Civil War began in 1861: The Civil War Awakening. Early in that fateful year, a second American revolution unfolded to free the country of slavery and end paralyzing attempts to compromise over it. A book signing will follow the program.
