Celebrate the diversity of DC's Immigrant Communities. Interpretation services and child care will be available at no charge. Free film, free food, discussions and more.

Enjoy a free screening of the documentary "Communities in Translation." The film, by Robert Winn, explores the role language barriers play during emergency response services, specifically focusing on the 2008 fire in Mt. Pleasant, DC.

You'll also here a mini report of findings from a community-led survey exploring the role of language barriers in accessing government services in DC. This event is co-sponsored by the DC Language Access Coalition, Many Languages One Voice, the Office of Human Rights, the Mayor's Office on African Affairs, the Mayor's Office on Asian Pacific Islander Affairs, and the Mayor's Office on Latino Affairs.
