Sunday, March 20th - Sunday, July 31st

"From 1967 to 1973, photographer Lewis Baltz (b. 1945) made a series of photographs that examines the postwar industrial landscape of California. Titled Prototypes, these photographs focus on the sharp contrasts between the standardized architectural forms that proliferated in the suburban environment and the complex culture they represent. Baltz transforms such banal subjects as stucco walls and parking lots into exquisite black-and-white-prints that simultaneously express brilliance and austerity." continue reading here.
