BloomBars screens 5 short films, followed by discussions with the filmmakers. Read short film descriptions on the facebook invite here.

Films include: “Hopes and Schemes,” “My View + You?”, “A Cup of Coffee,” “Shaw Speaks,” and “Ichiban Reggae Japan.” The films will explore topics such as gentrification, personal perceptions and ambitions, and Japan’s Reggae movement.

A discussion with local filmmakers Najma Nuriddin, Lawrence Green, Mark Shelton, Roan Ross and Avery “Byword” Smith - moderated by host, Risen Spivey of Bowie, Maryland’s public access channel, will follow.
