PAST: "Sounds of Hope" Concerts for the month of March, every FRI eve at The Potter's House

"Sounds of Hope" happens every Friday night at The Potters House and is organized by my friend Mary Shapiro. Step back in time and experience and intimate, relaxed Friday eve in their wood paneled cafe that always makes me feel a bit more of my hippie vibe. If you haven't been yet, the next few weeks have some great shows featuring talent that I know first hand. All events are fund raising events and are donation based. Suggested donation is $15 and everyone is encouraged to give as you are able, even if that is just $5 or $10. The money goes to the organizations who are benefiting that evening. Doors at 7:00. The show usually starts at 8:00 and ends around 10:00 or so. Food and non-alcoholic beverages are available there at very affordable prices as well.

March has some great performances scheduled, see below:

March 13th - Young Women's Drumming Empowerment Project, an organization founded by the lovely and talented Kristen Arant, aka Drumlady. This will be a Benefit and performance, sure to be energizing and inspiring. www.youngwomendrum.org

March 20th - Dance & Play with Binah Kaye & friends. Binah is an incredibly expressive and talented dancer and is really fun to play with! This should be a great night. Read more at www.osadance.blogspot.com

March 27th - Monthly Open Mic, every last Friday of the month. Poets & Musicians welcome. They even have a piano there and this is a FREE event. All donations and tips will benefit the soup program that Potter's House runs (free soup every M-F at 2:00 to those who are hungry).

Metro: Nearest metro station is Columbia Heights, also close to Woodley Park. Most direct way to get there is to take the 42 bus to Mozart Place or the S2 or S4 bus along 16th St to Harvard and walk about two blocks. Potter's House is located next to the new Shwarmaking at 1658 Columbia Rd.
